Hey this is an amazing charity that repairs and donates bikes to refugees and people in need. Please help them!

Why is this bot so insistent in following me? It sounds like someone is up to no good...

The sky was really pretty yesterday. Or something about “Wellington on a nice day” ;)

I’ve been called “ancient” by one of my 13yo’s friends (not to my face).

Even though I have quite a bit of grey hair, I still feel very young in my early 40s.

I even jest with my kids saying I’m just a boring old dad, so the comment doesn’t affect me.

But it is incredible how much we obsess in keeping a baby face…

This @ACLU@twitter.com video from 2006 is supposed to be an over the top parody of the future of corporate data collection.

Not so funny anymore 🥴

Rumble, rumble! It seems like the storm is not going to let people sleep much tonight 😬

Dinosaur techbro having stupid reckons on Twitter. Must be another day ending in “Y”.

And to think it was someone I looked up to at the beginning of my career. Social media is really exposing people’s characters.

Van :twitter:

If "Share The Road" feels more difficult/dangerous than it used to, it's because it is.

My daughter was surprised to hear that NZers have an accent. According to her the rest of the world has an accent and we speak the “standard English”. 🤣

Silly question (or an etymology one). As a non-native English speaker, the name "transmission gully" makes no sense to me. I get what gully means, but why "transmission gully" would have anything to do with a motorway? I'm embarrassed to ask this, but every time I read anything related to it I still get curious why was it named this way. 🤣

A question for you, O Fedi Friends!

If someone were to organise a fediverse postcard swap, would you be interesting in taking part:

This one is a lot harder than Wordle!

Don't Wordle 9 - WORDLED
I must admit that I Wordled!
Undos used: 1

How do you discover new and bands fediverse? When I was a teen or a young adult I’d spend time in music stores listening to what had just come out.

Now music is more available than ever before with all the steaming services and it is so overwhelming that I just rely on the same stuff that I’ve been listening for the past 30+ years. 😬

Uh I just got DMed by the COO of Tumblr asking about hiring contractors to make us fully #indieweb compliant, and possibly even #fediverse integration. Anyone out there looking for work?

Gun control

It’s alarming that every time a tragic shooting happens in the US I always hear or read about how people collect weapons for when the “economy collapses”. WTF? We’re, thanks to capitalism always close to a collapse. What are these people going to do? Hunt other humans and become cannibals? I find it horrifying all the photos of people openly carrying weapons when they’re out shopping as if that’s the most normal thing in the world.

Hi fediverse! Boosts appreciated on this one.

I’m part of a co-op building a platform for artists to sell art without getting exploited. I’ve been working on it for a while but there’s a lot of work to do and I could use some help. A ton of the main features are in place, but there’s still some big gaps and a lot of polish left before it can launch.

The platform is fully open source and developed in the open. It’s built on Phoenix/Elixir and Tailwindcss. Our co-op is already incorporated and established and it’s open to members that want to actually commit but you don’t need to be a member to contribute or help.

Does this sound interesting? I’d love some help! I’m also happy to answer questions. And no, you don’t need to know Elixir already. It’s pretty easy to learn for the things you’d be using it for. Even some design help would be welcome. Feel free to reply here or DM me!

I love the cartoons by Dave Walker. is chocolate (with a side of climate action), not cake btw :)
