@idanoo Sad to hear that. Would it makes a difference if account creation was by invite only? I'm interested in setting up some servers at some point and that was my plan to keep it manageable.
@strypey Possibly, personally I struggled to find any content I found interesting enough to keep on me on there. I was following a heap of instances I thought would be interesting but no luck. I'll keep mastodon/pixelfed and whatever else I run up as that's used by real people hah
@idanoo We can follow PeerTube channels with any AP account. So the only reason for hosting a PT instance is to host videos. I can see a benefit in having a PT instance specifically for videos from (or related to) Aoteaora. If you're willing to put peertube.nz back up. I would be keen to be your apprentice admin and do all the boring stuff.
@strypey Yeah this is true, I'm in the process of moving my .nz fedi sites onto other hosting at the moment so will take a look after all this is done
@draeath I'm active enough on here to manage the few accounts that slip through, but it still happens unfortunately
@idanoo This has been my experience too, the lack of content that is. I want the idea to succeed but there's things like Odysee splitting the already small number of people looking for a FOSS YouTube alternative, and too much junk/repeated content.
I'll keep my closed instance online for now but I barely look at it.
@michael I'm glad to see I'm not the only one! I considered keeping mine locked down but the content just wasn't there for me. Going to focus more on my other hosted platforms :)
